Brothers and Sisters, grace and peace to you in the name of Christ, crucified and glorified:
Our congregation is well known within our community for helping the less able to meet basic needs of food, clothing and ministry. However, our in person gatherings for worship as well as the Thrift Store and Food Pantry must remain closed for safety reasons. We pray for your partnership to sustain your generous gifts and to consider how we can do more in these extraordinary circumstances.
The entreaties for help continue despite our physical absence and lessened financial ability to meet needs. Tom Mitchell (813-420-4961) is taking lead on gauging the priority of need for those seeking our help. We are determined to provide assistance in a health-safe manner. Please communicate directly with Tom on how you might help with your prayers, your presence, your gifts, service, and witness, as God leads. We expect the love and generosity of our people to surpass all expectations.
You can continue sending your gifts by mail to the church office, which will be checked twice daily. In the days to come, the Executive Leadership Council (ELC) – with Lyman James leading strategic communications, will make available a safe and secure method to send electronic deposit of your tithes and offerings to the church. We will communicate how you can participate soon.
Now and forever, God guides our hands as the Spirit has been present amidst our congregation these last 100 years. We set the tenor for the next century by inviting Christ into the lives of those in Hillsborough County and beyond. Thank you in advance for your prayerful consideration and personal devotion. Pray for a quick end to this disease and the continued good health of all of God’s people. We ask you each to communicate your thoughts and prayers on this matter to your ELC members and our Pastors.
Yours in Christ,
